Carne Molida con Papa




Ingredients

  • Tomato (1)
  • Dried California Chiles (3)
  • Lean Ground Beef [7% fat] (1 lbs.)
  • Potatoes (3)
  • Salt
  • Garlic
  • Cumin
  • Black Pepper
  • Olive Oil

Instructions

  1. Put 3 California chiles and 1 tomato to boil
  2. Pre-heat pan on medium flame; coat in olive oil
  3. Tear beef into little pieces and put in pan
  4. Turn heat up to medium-high
  5. Peel potatoes
  6. Season beef with [aprox.] 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  7. Mash beef with masher
  8. Put flame to lowest level
  9. Cover pan
  10. Cut potato to small pieces; put in pan then cover pan again; do this with all potatoes
  11. Stir & cover
  12. Put the boiled chiles and tomato into blender; add 1 clove of garlic; add 1/2 teaspoon of cumin; add 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper; add a splash of the water used to boil
  13. Blend
  14. Continually stir beef & potatoes
  15. When potatoes begin to soften a little, add the blended chile
  16. Rinse blender with a splash of water and add to meat
  17. Stir
  18. Let sit on lowest level flame until potatoes are completely soft
  19. Done.
